The massacre at a gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida is a ghastly and horrible act of terror. To call it anything less than that is to patently lie about what took place. These people were gunned down innocently by a madman who killed them for one reason only. They were gay, and that is anti-Islam. It’s a horrendous situation and it’s certainly shocked the nation for the last 24 hours.
As I posted on our social media page earlier this morning, the news cycle has progressed in predictable fashion as I said it would. The only surprise from it all, was President Obama, in his remarks, calling the attack and act of terror and hate. Truly, this shocked me because in the past, every other word but “terrorism” comes up when situations like this have risen. However, social media is abuzz with people in the LGBTQ community blaming the NRA, Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton blaming the NRA or guns in general, and finally, we have the President of the United States not wasting a moment to get in the gun control/confiscation argument. I mean, the bodies have not even been dead for 12 hours when he laid the blame and I quote,
“Today marks the most deadly shooting in American history. The shooter was apparently armed with a handgun and a powerful assault rifle. This massacre is therefore a further reminder of how easy it is for someone to get their hands on a weapon that lets them shoot people in a school, or in a house of worship, or a movie theater, or in a nightclub. And we have to decide if that’s the kind of country we want to be. And to actively do nothing is a decision as well.”
This should not surprise anyone. He did the same thing when politicizing Sandy Hook, but I do not remember his similar comments regarding the members at Ft Hood during the massacre in 2009. In fact, it took the President nearly 6 years later to call it an act of terror. Getting back to this event, the blame is not on guns, gun manufacturers, our gun laws, or the 2nd Amendment. The blame is once again on you Mr. President.
I blame the President for one simple reason. It has been his attitude and position of appearing weak in the face of countries that sponsor and encourage radical Islam. For example, during the recent nuclear talks with Iran, not one single time did the President bring up the subject of homosexuals being hung from the gallows just because they are gay.
Not one time has he taken on ISIS in any meaningful way regarding their systematic slaughter of homosexuals in Syria and beyond. Stepping away from homosexuals for just a moment, this President has literally done nothing to stop radical Islam’s holy war against people who may think differently than they do. Be they Christians, other muslims, homosexuals, children, the handicapped, it does not matter to them. They will systematically wipe out anyone who does not fit with their idea of the muslim Heaven on Earth.
Now we have the massacre in Orlando of 50 people senselessly slaughtered for one reason only. They are gay. Now, as a believer in the Bible, the gay lifestyle is something that I totally abhor in accordance with what scripture tells us. Specifically, homosexuality is a sin according to the G-d of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Even Yeshua Himself spoke out against sexual immorality, and homosexuality is just but one type of that immorality. However, what took place in Orlando was nothing more than an evil act of the devil, and that act is murder.
One of the Ten Commandments states, “You shall not murder.” That means, premeditated killing for the purpose other than self defense or the defense of others, is a sin. As believers in G-d, we of course do not endorse homosexuality that was being openly practiced at that gay nightclub. However, in regards to the Orlando massacre, we most certainly should not condone the senseless slaughter of people simply because they are/were gay. That is the difference between the radical Islamic view on homosexuality versus how Christians deal with it.
I blame the President because this is now another incursion of radical Islam into the United States of America. While I had my differences with his predecessor, George W. Bush, one thing was pretty clear. After 9/11 happened on his watch, we did not have another terrorist attack for the two terms that he served. Contrast that with Barack Obama, where we have had multiple terrorist attacks at the hands of radical Islam.
From the government building in California where a Messianic Jew was gunned down in cold blood along with his other co-workers by another co-worker who was a radical muslim, the Ft. Hood massacre at the hands of Army Major Nadal Hassan who had become a radicalized muslim, the Boston Marathon attacks which came at the hands of young radical muslims, all of them have that one thing in common. Radical Islam was the center of them all. In fact, most recently the attack in California and now Orlando, the attacker had pledged allegiance to ISIS, and ISIS accepted responsibility for these attacks.
In other words LGBTQ community, radical Islam doesn’t want to negotiate with you. They hate you and as we saw last night, want you all dead.
So to my fellow Americans who are in the LGBTQ community, and particularly the activists; prior to last night your main fight was with Christian bakers who tried to exercise their right to disagree with your lifestyle by not baking a gay wedding cake. Not only did this happen at a national level in Colorado, Oregon, and Arizona, but it even happened right here in East Texas in Longview. Quite clearly my memory recalls the many online social media comments from heterosexuals and homosexuals calling Christians “haters”, “bigots”, and some other choice names that are too profane for my taste. It was silly then to call Christians these names, because disagreement does not always equate to hate.
The gay community only needs to look to Orlando right now because folks, that is the face of true hate. I cannot recall a single time in recent history where a Christian walked into a gay bar and sprayed the place with bullets in the name of Jesus. I cannot recall a single time that when a homosexual was attacked in the streets that the person who was attacked mentioned that their attackers stated, “G-d told us to do this.” No LGBTQ community, Christians are not your enemy. Radical Islam is, and guess what? It’s not just in Syria half a world away. It’s in our backyard and it killed some of our fellow Americans last night.
My heart grieves that this senseless murder took place at all. However, the gay community needs to collectively wake up and realize that your arguments to date such as, “I blame the NRA”, or “I blame Christians” just do not hold water anymore, and frankly, they never did. This has nothing to do with the NRA, guns by themselves, or anything like this. This was the act of a single madman who subscribed to a radical form of Islam and went on a rampage simply because he religion states that you all should be slaughtered in the name of his god. It is totally on him his actions, and it’s totally on this President who has made us weak in the face of ISIS and other radical Islamic regimes that have emboldened the enemy to do what took place last night.
As a member of the NRA myself, had I heard gunshots coming from that gay bar, I would have been one of the first people to pull my licensed handgun out and get in there to stop the madness. That is to say, I as a believer in Yeshua, would have defended the lives of homosexuals because no one deserves to be killed like that. No one.
As a believer in Yeshua, my greatest hope is that through the ugliness of this all, that those who survived will overcome this. I believe that they will only overcome through the power of Yeshua Himself which is what His Word tells us. I pray that people will be delivered from homosexuality itself, because I do not want to see someone going to hell for any sin that is unrepentant of. That can only happen when people choose to do the following: James 4:7 “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”
Finally, I offer my condolences to the families who lost loved ones last night in Orlando. This is a tragic time to say the least. However, please remember that Christians are not your enemies. In fact right now, in churches all across America today, many of them said prayers to G-d on your behalf. They did so because they do not hate you, but instead truly love and care about you. I hope that the LGBTQ community will once and for all realize this and will now demand that this President get tough on radical Islam with actions, instead of merely using words.
